Social Security Administration Field Offices open April 7!

So happy to hear that Social Security Administration District Offices, ie Field Offices are reopening this Thursday, April 7th! https://secure.ssa.gov/ICON/main.jsp

The Social Security Administration has tried to merge 3 phone systems from Field Offices, Office of Hearings and Operations and Disability Adjudication Services for months with continued problems. Repeat calls for 20 minutes or longer on hold could result in disconnections. So, people can now go in person to Social Security District Office. https://gvs.georgia.gov/disability-adjudication-services https://www.ssa.gov/appeals/ho_locator.html
From www.nosscr.org “Today, SSA announced that field offices will open to the public this Thursday, April 7. Remote services will still be available. Appointments are not required, but SSA recommends people make them, as long lines for people who walk in may occur. SSA has sent some staff from headquarters to field offices and has temporarily rehired retired field office staff, among other steps to make reopening as efficient as possible. However, two years of closures will not be reversed overnight.”
